What is a CRM?
A Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system gives you the power to track interactions that your potential customers take with your online ads, website, and social media pages, as well as the conversations they are having with your sales team.
A CRM can import and keep records of email and phone call conversations, and HubSpot’s CRM takes that a step further by letting you integrate their CRM with Gmail, Office 365, or other email service providers.
What is Hubspot CRM?
HubSpot CRM is one of the leading CRMs currently available on the market. It is free and straightforward. Its platform is built to allow sales teams to get started quickly without making much of a change in their existing workflow.
Let’s talk about some more of the benefits you can experience with their free tools by diving into our in-depth HubSpot CRM review...

Some of the key features for small B2B professional services firms are:

Case Study: ClearRisk Increases Sales by 360% with HubSpot SEO and Lead Management Tools
“ClearRisk was able to capture leads through Landing Pages but had no actual lead intelligence to attach to these people. In order to create Landing Pages that would even pass information to their CRM, they had to pull developers away from important tasks.” - HubSpot
ClearRisk is a small B2B professional services firm with only 1-25 employees. By using HubSpot’s SEO and Lead Management tools, they were able to generate 11.3x more leads and increase their sales revenue by 3.6x.
With HubSpot’s free CRM, ClearRisk was able to capture, track, and nurture the new leads they were getting from their Landing Pages, and their website traffic increased by 15.6x as a result of using HubSpot’s tools.

Pros and Cons of HubSpot CRM
How to Keep Your First One Million Contacts Free
The biggest downside to HubSpot’s free CRM comes when you upgrade to a paid tier, and you have to start paying for the contacts that you were getting for free.
What do I mean by this?
For example, if you end up with 5,000 contacts in the free CRM, and then you upgrade to marketing’s base plan, you’ll pay $100 for every 1k contacts.
There is a less-than-elegant workaround for this, adequate, but a little clunky. With this workaround, you’ll use a free account and a paid account together by manually moving leads over when they meet the criteria that make them worth being on your paid account.
Now that we’ve talked about the most important things you need to know about HubSpot’s free CRM let’s do a quick recap of what we learned.
HubSpot CRM is the most popular tool for collecting, tracking, and nurturing new leads. The free features included are:
- Contact Management
- Contact Website Activity
- Company Details
- Deals and Promotions
- Tasks and Activities
- Email Marketing
- Ad Management
- List Segmentation
- Live Chat
- Team Email
- Conversations Inbox
The free version comes with everything you need to get started, and they guarantee it will stay free forever, but there are some downsides.
- Limited features in mobile applications.
- Lack of flexibility.
- Your contacts aren’t free anymore once you upgrade to a paid tier. You’ll pay $100 for every 1,000 contacts on your list.
