How to Use FB Call-to-Action Buttons for Business

If you're a fan of converting anonymous visitors to real leads (and who isn't!) then you're going to love Facebook Call-to-Action Buttons.  They give you a quick and easy way to get someone from just viewing your profile to the next step of your funnel.  So let's take a look at how to take advantage of this new feature for business pages so can get started right away!

Is it Worth Using?

The simple answer... YES.  Of course it's worth using!  It's simple to set up.  It's a great way to nudge a visitor into the next step to do business with you.  And it's free to use.  So why not?!

Dollar Shave Club was one of the first companies to start using the Call-to-Action button and that had a lot of success with it.  Here's what they had to say about it:

"Over the course of a three-week test, the Sign Up call-to-action button delivered a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition."
— Brian Kim, Director of Acquisition, Dollar Shave Club.

Is it Worth Using?

Facebook gives us some predefined options for this button.  While that's frustrating for those of us that want to customize it, it does make it easier to get started with it.

You have the following choices when setting up your button:

  • Book Now: Can be used to take a visitor to a reservation or booking page on your website.
  • Call Now: Is used to launch a call service from your phone or computer to dial the phone number for your business.
  • Contact Us: Links over to a contact page on your website.
  • Send Message: Allows a visitor to send a message directly to your Facebook page.
  • Use App: Sends someone to a link to download your business app (if you have one).
  • Play Game: If you have a branded game that you've created, then you can link over to it from here.
  • Show Now: This can be a fantastic way to increase sales if you have an e-store to send them over to.
  • Sign Up: You can use this to grow your subscriber list for email marketing by sending them to your sign-up page.
  • Watch Video: You can promote a company video - especially an overview video about your company.

How to Set it Up?

The Facebook Help Center actually has some pretty good instructions for setting up and viewing insights on your button on their page at:

Growing up I saw the hard work my family put in day in and day out to give my siblings and I a better life style than they had growing up. They taught me that If there was anything I ever wanted in life I would have to work for it to earn it. I've taken their knowledge and hard work ethic to help me grow as a web developer.

I believe that if you want to be successful, you have to take the time and learn from people that have gone through the same road you have so you can learn from their mistakes and grow efficiently.

My mission is to help anyone who wants to succeed in life by helping them get there in what ever way I can.
